Executive Director Year-in-Review Letter

Dear Friends,

At LifeWorks Community Action, we often say neighbors helping neighbors - but in 2025, those words took on deeper meaning than ever before. This was a year marked by uncertainty and rising need. And yet, again and again, something extraordinary happened: neighbors showed up for neighbors.

Because of you, LifeWorks responded with strength, compassion, and resilience. Together, we ensured families had food on the table when groceries became unaffordable. We helped parents nurture healthy pregnancies and growing children through WIC. We kept homes warmer, safer, and more affordable through Weatherization. We preserved access to early childhood education despite major funding cuts. And we stood beside immigrant families - expanding legal, language, and support services during one of the most challenging years they have faced.

Across every program, the story was the same: stability creates opportunity. None of this happened by accident. It happened because this community believes in taking care of one another.

As we look ahead, your continued support through our Annual Appeal ensures LifeWorks remains here - responsive, resilient, and ready - when neighbors need neighbors most.

With sincere appreciation,

Krystle Nowhitney Hernandez
Executive Director, LifeWorks Community Action
